Censorship, Shot Show, and the Gen2 Prototype (1/22/24)

Hello everyone!

I recently attempted to share an update via Facebook and Instagram. Unfortunately, these posts were rapidly removed as they were [incorrectly] identified as violating their policies regarding the buying, selling, and trading of firearms. While it is a shame as there was no implied offer for those, this is as expected. As of now, I will be testing the blog function in conjunction with the mailing list to keep everyone updated. While it may prove futile, updates on Facebook and Instagram will be simply to inform there is a new blog entry. Also, as some may recall, I recently did a podcast with SlavGuns and the YouTube live stream was erroneously shut down. Additional avenues for social media engagement are being considered such as the utilization of platforms that support the uncensored exchange of information and ideas such as X and Rumble. With that being said, it is likely that any videos I uploaded onto the internet within the new few weeks will land on YouTube. We will see how this all plays out.

As for Shot Show, I have arrived and will begin setting up the booth today. I am at booth #71132 in Caesar's Forum. If you are at Show Show, please stop by. I'd love to see you. For those not at Shot Show, don't fret. The media guys I've worked/spoke with in the past will do an excellent job getting information out. If any of your favorite media guys are at Shot Show, send them over. About 50% of the booth traffic last year was sent over by you all so it works and I very much appreciate it!

And now for the MBLR-15...

So what is new? The bolt carrier has taken a new shape to better aid in ejection and reduce weight. The change inthe bolt carrier had several positive downstream effects such as the chassis. The Gen2 chassis has taken a much more rigid structure, is more comfortable, and has a little more visual appeal that the Gen1.The handguard also offers 2 more additional rows of M-Lok space for a total of 7 rows. The update in the chassis necessitated a new charging system which in turn led to a new trunnion design. Though for brevity sake it is not on the prototypes at Shot Show, the new trunnion is now the sole mounting surface for the picatinny rail on the upper chassis. This ties the barrel and optic together and keeps them both isolated from any user interference. And finally, what most are probably interested in, the trigger has been significantly refined. The Gen2 trigger is now averaging 5.5lbs. The pull is approximately 1/4" long, smooth, clear wall, clean break, and a very tactile reset. As far as OEM bullpup triggers utilizing mil-spec components, this is a very pleasing result.

What to expect next? Upon returning from Shot Show, I will be doing some more live fire tests and, as per the request of many of you, I will be making a video delving into the breakdown and controls of the rifle. Additionally, there will be further development into the smaller systems of the rifle to better optimize them such as the magazine release, charging system, and retaining pins. While there are already notes on further improvements to the chassis, it seems to be most sensible to optimize those systems as they may dictate some edits to the chassis.

Your support is much appreciated and I look forward to delivering the MBLR-15 to you. As it currently stands, Senex Arms has be funded through my own financial means (AKA lot of overtime at my day job and side jobs) and most recently the merch sales. If you haven't already, please consider purchasing from the Founder or Patriot Tier merch as those provide a mutual benefit. Senex Arms gets more funding up front, and you ultimately end up with a free hoodie/t-shirt and an advanced pre-order when available.
